In case it was difficult to keep up with Sonu, Titu, and Sweety in the 2018 Luv Ranjan hit, the director steps up the moniker game in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The majority of the movie is spent with you wondering whether Ranbir goes by Rohan, Mickey, or Jeetender. It transpires that both he and the featured woman have numerous names. Nisha and Tinny are Sisters, and she or someone like her has a best friend named Kinny (Monica Chaudhary).

The companion of Anubir is Anubhav Singh Bassi. In addition to running the family businesses, the boys also work as relationship counsellors and offer a side breakup service. They provide packages for people who require aid ending a relationship (the platinum package costs 2 lakh). Everything is fun until Mickey's knowledge comes back to harm him.

Recently, there hasn't been a movie with such a contrast between the two halves. Tamasha (Corsica chapter) by Imtiaz Ali is reinvented in the first half. In the second, a Barjatya-Karan Johar and Priyadarshan story set in a Luv Ranjan universe takes over. Beautiful beaches, handsome lead actors in swimsuit, and the upbeat youth anthem "Tere Pyaar Mein" may all be found in the first half. Everything is attractive yet pointless. Because the characters aren't fully developed, the audience is forced to read between the lines, which is laborious.

When the movie takes up significantly in the second half and develops into a funny family comedy with a spectacular airport conclusion, Kartik Aaryan's fantastic cameo acts as a catalyst. Here, women are not the bad guys. Mickey has a forward-thinking mother (Dimple Kapadia), a helpful sister (Hasleen Kaur), and a free-spirited lover (Shraddha). He is the chatty, clingy boyfriend. With his often patriarchal films, Luv Ranjan departs from that comfort zone to concentrate on the dangers of contemporary dating. Mickey asks Tinny, "Tujhe Pyaar karna hai ya time pass?" up front so that neither wastes any time.

The two fall in love more quickly than one may anticipate and chat about everything but the important issues. Less listening and more talking. Communication is the problem here, not commitment or a power struggle between the sexes. Can Tinny and Mickey work together to make some difficult decisions? The perspective is refreshing because of our urge to fix things rather than end them.

When Ranbir Kapoor plays damaged characters, he is most stunning. His lack of speech says a lot. Now, he ventures into uncharted region that Kartik Aaryan has become an expert at. He reacts well to flowery romanticism, profuse talking and endless monologues. This may be the longest he has ever spoken in a movie, and it's fascinating to see how it changes his personality. He looks amazing with Shraddha, but the chemistry needs development. This time around, Shraddha comes across as lively and unrestrained on screen. Hasleen Kaur and Dimple Kapadia stood out in the crowd. Boney Kapoor doesn't do much.

Both the humour and the heart are present in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Given the time, character development falls short of expectations. Luv Ranjan checks all the appropriate boxes once more with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar after the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety series and Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise. The picture is greatly enhanced by its exotic settings and top-charting music. Particular note to the fantastic climax, which will leave a broad smile on your face while exiting the cinema auditorium.

Note

Rohan Arora (Ranbir Kapoor) and Nisha Malhotra (Shraddha Kapoor), who both come from affluent Delhi families, fall in love the instant they meet while on holiday in Spain. The two struck it off in no time but modern love has a way of complicating things.
